Disappearing hedgehogs are causing some concern in ecological circles. Personally, I love these little creatures, well most of the time anyway; but anyone who has had these little buggers shagging in their garden will agree that, at a certain time of year, they can simply be a bloody nuisance with all of the noise they make!
I would urge anyone interested to go to HogWatch and help preserve these beautiful, ancient creatures; go on get over there and help…
That's my "social conscience" bit for today.

what’s the situation with the proposed cull/relocation of the hebredian hedgehogs who were eating all the birds eggs?

I have no idea but, and here’s an idea, maybe they could be relocated to places where the numbers are dropping; although that may cause some problems of misunderstandings between the English and Hebredian hedgehogs due to accent problems…

There was a hedgehog in our garden last night.
Frightened my wife, who thought it was a rat and tried to flush it out with (much to the neighbours’ consternation) shouts of “there’s another bloody rat in the bushes!”.
