If you are reading this,I would point out that there are many individuals here. I doubt this will register but we dont all hold the same views.
I would not say that I like it here but it does give me good material to prove my point that the majority of those who post here are bigoted, hypocritical and latently racist. Yes I did read this and I would hope that there are “many individuals here” and that this was not the work of one individual. As I have said before I do not tar everybody with the same brush and am sure that there are a lot of people at the CoSG who do not hold the views of the bigots, hypocritres and latent racists who post there. I would like to make one other point here, and that is that if your friend Gareth had not begun by using insults and abuse, and encouraging others to do the same I would never have given this obnoxious little forum a second look; also to add fuel to the fire one of your number took an email address of mine and not only posted it on your forum but also planted it on several porn sites with the express intention that my inbox should be flooded with spam! I will not beleive in the argument that this is coincidence as I do not believe in such coincidence, especially as I have had that address for two years previously without a hint of spam at all. So the fault for my attention lies within your own ranks!

You’ve gone beyond boring I am afraid! Typical really of the latent racism, can’t resist the derogatory remark (”jocks”); actually it was James VI of Scotland who became King well before the act of union, and that because the English could not provide one for themselves. I think it more that the English can’t stand the thought that they might lose the oil revenues that they have been getting from Scotland than anything else…

If you saw the development taking place in Leith you would probably understand. Since devolution it (and Edinburgh) has been transformed with new buildings and infrastructure. I expect he has a smelly little bedsit by the docks and he has seen its market value sky-rocket thanks to devolution.
Pop down to Nobles this Sunday and you’ll see Numptie there with the other plastic Jocks listening to jazz and drinking a pint ‘o heavy wishing they were Scottish and could understand that chat of the locals. The real Scots despise his sort.

No, Numptie is not Scottish he is Cornish and proud of it. This all smacks of so much jealousy; I did not move to Leith, one of the more interesting parts of Edinburgh, to enjoy “the benefits of devolution” I moved here with my partner who got a job up here, and as what I do can be undertaken anywhere it made sense to work in a more pleasant environment. As to the “funding largesse” remark I see nothing of the sort, in fact I see it the other way round; Scotland funding England with the oil revenues which are far greater than anything that comes north from England…
Now we get to what I would expect from this member, insults and abuse! Yes Leith has been developed in recent years, but still retains its character. No I do not live in “a smelly little bedsit by the docks” (as I said he can’t resist the abuse) I live in a rather nice three bedroomed apartment in a lovely complex with great views of both the coast and of Edinburgh itself; as I said the green eyed monster rears its ugly head!
And no, you won’t find this man down at Nobles on a Sunday night with the other “plastic jocks” (that latent racism again), I would go anywhere near the place for fear of meeting too many people like the author of this rubbish! Yes I like jazz, so what? Yes I like good beer, and there is a lot of it to be found up here from the local independent breweries; and may I say that it equals and in some cases surpasses English beers. I don’t wish I were Scottish, I am Cornish and proud to be so; I understand the Scots perfectly well as would anyone who took the trouble to try and do so. On the contrary, if people make the effort they will find that the Scots are a warm and friendly people who do not despise us; the only people they despise are the people like the author of this who patronise them…

Indeed Cliff, they should have purchased the Turbo model… If anything the last few days “attacking the woodchip” has given me more of an edge for the fight, BondWoman will confirm that a “mellowed” Numptie is a contradiction in terms; as it says in the profile Numptie is a “Professional Old Git”… And if I could get that rit large and in red I would be happy to do so!

These characters picked my name up once from a forum and began sending threatening emails to me and Rach. We got nasty phone calls as well and had to go ex-directory. All because I said that and English Parliament would probably be a bit of a waste of money. They concluded, as I wasn’t for them, that I must be Scottish or Irish. All quite laughable really if it wasn’t so aggressive. I think any campaign that has to resort to threats and bullying has probably already lost the plot.

I agree with you Martyn anyone who has to resort to insults, abuse and bullying has lost the argument before they have even started. The worst of the lot, in my opinion, is friend Gareth, or “toque” as he likes to sign himself, as he is one of those who throws the stone and then sits back to watch the fun; his tactic is to throw insults and be generally abusive, that is until he realises that this is not working then he wants a reasoned debate. I’m afraid as far as I am concerned it is a reasoned debate from the word go or nothing!

Incidently - with regards to the word ‘racist’ - if you are to continue this ‘vendetta’ I think that you should be aware that the reason that I help administer the CoSG forum is to stop racists from posting.
One person banned was the irrepresible Lee Barnes (of the BNP). You can see what I think of him here. Take what you will from the exchange but please understand that what is at issue here is not race but nationality and democracy. You do yourself no favours by screaming ‘racist’. I have Scottish family myself, I have lived and worked in Scotland, and I do not regard the Scots as a different race. The fact that you seem to is rather worrying in itself, and doesn’t seem so far removed from Lee Barnes who also likes to think of the English along ethno-centric lines.

Once more, a failure to read the words (this is just one of your failings, a failure to read before commenting) if you had then you would not have had a go at Martyn; I have just read his comment three times and nowhere does he accuse you personally of threatening him; so I think that you owe Martyn an apology right from the start, that is if you know how, because, as usual, you start off by attacking others before bothering to read what they say!
If that is the truth Toque, and I do have difficulty believing anything you say, then that just reinforces what I was thinking all along, and that is just what a pathetic person you are! Just point me to one place where I have said that the Scots are a “different race”; again you are guilty of twisting what I say! I have never indicated that the Scots are a different race; I have talked about a different cultural heritage, and that is far from being the same thing. There is an inherent problem with all of the English Nationalists, they so want a distinct cultural heritage, but they don’t have one. I very much resent, and see it as an insult, being told that I don’t “seem so far removed from Lee Barnes“, nothing could be further from the truth; I DO NOT think of the English along ethno-centric lines, and if you bothered to read what I say you would know that. This reference to ‘latent racism’ is rather amusing. Is this some sort of dormant racism - a racism as yet unrealised - that I am supposed to detect in people and censor before it emerges?
It would be a clever trick if you could read minds. Sadly you cannot. Racism is prejudice or discrimination on the basis of race, on the assumption that one race is inherently superior to another.
First off, the Scots are not a separate race from the English, so I cannot be racist towards Scots, and second, even if they were a different race, calling someone a ‘jock’ is not a sign of racism. Pejorative it may be, it can also be affectionate, but then so can Yank, Canuck, Limey, Sassenach, Pomm, Taffy, Paddy - I could go on.
Calling someone with an obvious sense of humour bypass, with a plum up their arse, a ‘plastic jock’ with the express intent of forcing the plum up even farher is certainly not racism.
The fact that you think that it is ‘racist’ for an Englishman to call a Scot a ‘jock’ would indicate to me that you believe there is a difference in race between the Scots and English. Either you are using the word flippantly for exaggerated effect or you really have no understanding of what racism actually is.
Isn’t the word ‘Sassenach’ more ‘racist’ (though I cringe to use the word in such a trivial matter) because the very word implies a racial difference. Nevertheless, I doubt we’ll see you riding your white charger to the defence of the English who are regularly described with that horrific epithet by large sections of the Scottish public and popular press.
Get a job. Get a life. But more than that get a sense of humour.

I can assure you that it had nothing to do with me. It shouldn’t happen. It’s terrible that it did happen, and if I knew who did it then I would do something about it. At the end of the day though it is not my forum, I am not a member of the EDP, nor have I ever been, and I bear no responsibility for the childish actions of others. Just so that is perfectly clear.
Anyway, nice chatting to you. I don’t take much pleasure in being accussed of racism that I publicly rail against, and nor do I much appreciate being accussed by association for matters that are outside my control. I’ll leave you to your funny little vendetta. Goodbye Numptie.

a) I could respond to your points in extensive detail, but I can’t be arsed responding to someone who neither reads the content or the context of what I write and can only make a point by being either abusive or insulting.
b)Your words are all very fine, but I still notice no apology, and if you feel that you are being “accussed by association” then maybe Martyn has a point.
c) I notice that your and your co-conspirators never bother to pick up on the main points that I make; you always choose some obscure little phrase and take it out of context. I wonder if this is because you have no arguments to the political points I make; although I suppopse as there are none how can you even begin to make them. I actually thought that the argument was for an English Parliament, not nit-picking the words of others for something that you can attack without actually making a point!
