Two days ago I pointed you to this, with the comment that this author represents the worst face of the English nationalists…
Well this is the result of this person’s attempts to stir his mates to fight his battles!
The comments left on Andy Murray’s blog were in the main good natured, but as is the nature of the nationalists some could not resist getting personal and insulting:-
“While most of the comments were good-natured, they also included personal attacks against Murray and his mother, and even a reference to the massacre at his home town of Dunblane.”
And this despite the authour’s request to:-
“Be polite though, we wouldn’t want England to get the same reputation as Scotland.”
Well I hope that he is happy with the product of his labour; I for one have absolutely no time for people like this who simply enjoy throwing the first stone the standing back to watch… He knew perfectly well when he made his request to “be polite” that this would never be the case; I have been on the receiving end of his attempts before with the result that I am still getting flooded with spam from various porn sites because one of his mates decided it would be fun to take my email address and plant it on a wide variety of porn sites.
So they want an English Parliament, which, for various reasons, they will not get in the form that they want; yet they behave like spoilt children and playground bullies! Is this the way to achieve their aims? Personally I think not, the more of this type of behaviour that is shown by these people the more they will be marginalised by those in the majority who are quite happy with the status quo, and who simply want to get on with livng their lives.
I am too much of a gentleman to suggest that you follow this link and tell him what you think; ok, so I lied…

Not ‘one of my mates’ thank you.

Oh, but I think is was, after all it was you who started the thread on the forum in which the email address was first posted see here, so don’t give the old “I’m innocent guv, I was somewhere else” line because I don’t believe it!

If you think that I know who ‘Jolly’ is then you are mistaken.

I wasn’t aware that I said you know any of these people; I was using “mates” in the manner of them being fellow members of the CoSG Forum; I am quite sure that you knew exactly what I meant but if you would like me to spell it out I was using ‘mates’ in the loosest possible sense of the word; but then you are all guilty of taking words and twisting them around to suit yourselves…

‘taking words and twisting them around’, oh purleeeese, you really have lost the plot now! They’re no more ‘mates’ of mine than people who use BBC forums.
Even in the loosest sense of the word they are not mates. They are not even aquaintences. They are strangers.

There’s only one ‘mate’ or mine (someone I know personally) on that forum and that’s the owner.
Does anyone read this blog BTW?

Well you seem to so I think you have answered your own question!
June 29, 2006 at 7:27 pm
You do, obviously.
If Murray decides not to support England in a football context then fine. That’s a perfectly acceptable position not taken ad personam with regard to the individuals who are in that team, but based on some (in my view misguided) ‘tribal’ loyalty. Your decision to support ‘anyone but Murray’ in tennis is different. It’s a personal decision. You are entitled to make it, of course. But in a context where tennis remains indubitably ‘UK-ish’, not English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish, that’s an ad personam decision, which does not match in any sense the position taken by Murray.

I should have added, ‘except in its stupidity’. He was stupid to say anything as a public figure. Those who advocate ‘anyone but Murray’ are stupid because their position is offensive and pointless.

Very wise words indeed BW and you’ve saved me the trouble of having to argue with him now. It is the product of the mob tactics they like to employ. It’s the classic approach of the political margins.
They mistake a small committed internet community for popular support.
As for the tennis, the sight of the Wimbledon crowd vociferously supporting Murray was I think continuing confirmation of a strongly held sense of Britishness in Middle England. Which is the principal reason it rankles the English nationalists.
Oh by the way, after a bit of vigorous shaking by Rachel I’m keeping the blog going. Sad individuals like Clueless Cliff will not be setting the agenda.

I am a complete idiot, I can’t read and I can’t write in a coherent manner, and when it comes to a reasoned argument I really don’t know what that means. However I do have a very good grasp of Anglo Saxon language and I know how to throw insults at people; I also have a VERY narrow mind and anybody who doesn’t think like me is just plain wrong. In fact I am just a plain and simple waste of space!
