August 25, 2006 — BondBlokeWhat puts this man beyond being banned from driving? I think that the simple answer is, because he is a police officer! The simple fact is that he was found to be massively breaking the speed limit, for which most of us would have not only the book thrown at us but the whole bloody library, and basically gets away with it; talk about one law for us and another for them!
Pc Milton, an advanced driver, has always maintained he was familiarising himself with the car and the reason for his high-speed driving was to practise the skills he had learnt.
What a load of bullshit that is; what if he had been involved in an accident during one of these high speed “familiarisation” drives and someone had died? There is absolutely no excuse for such reckless, and it is reckless no matter what advanced driver training he has had, driving without good cause; and “familiarisation” is not a good cause! Take away his bloody licence for at least five years the same as any of us brought before the courts would get, after all, whether an advanced police driver or not, he is just another bloody loony on the road and a danger to all in his path!
