Why is it always the vulnerable who suffer?

This makes me so fucking angry; once again it is the socially deprived and vulnerable in our society who are suffering at the hands of some rich wanker; those people who work hard for their money, are on benefits or are subject to a combination of both, those who do not want to become victims of loan sharks, those who are showing a little prudence by saving a fiver or a tenner, or whatever they can afford to take out of their income each week without causing too much hardship, to ensure that the family has a good Christmas.

Personally in cases like this I think that the assets of the owners of such companies should be immediately siezed to repay those who have most effectively been robbed of their hard earned cash. Let the rich wankers who couldn’t care less about the poor and vulnerable suffer for once, give them a taste of what it is like to endure a miserable Christmas because it is basically unaffordable. I’ve been there as a child and know what it is like to suffer the indignity of telling my school friends what a miserable Christmas is like, and I would not wish that on any child!

BW does her Stuff!

BondWoman, famous in her own lunchbox, was doing her stuff last night delivering an inaugural lecture entitled ‘Citizenship and Constitutionalism in the European Union - What role for political rights?‘. Although I will be accused of being biased, I have to admit that it was something of a tour de force; it was delivered with a degree of panache that a few of those I have heard speak could learn from.

The title may make one think that the content was quite esoteric, and to some degree it was, however, it was pitched at such a level that it was accessible to all, from those academic colleagues to the public who wandered in off the street, and all in between.

I just could not resist one of those rare occasions when BW can be caught in her glad rags… Savour the moment, because when she sees this I will probably be instructed to delete the post.
