BondWoman, famous in her own lunchbox, was doing her stuff last night delivering an inaugural lecture entitled ‘Citizenship and Constitutionalism in the European Union - What role for political rights?‘. Although I will be accused of being biased, I have to admit that it was something of a tour de force; it was delivered with a degree of panache that a few of those I have heard speak could learn from.
The title may make one think that the content was quite esoteric, and to some degree it was, however, it was pitched at such a level that it was accessible to all, from those academic colleagues to the public who wandered in off the street, and all in between.
I just could not resist one of those rare occasions when BW can be caught in her glad rags… Savour the moment, because when she sees this I will probably be instructed to delete the post.

That is a very fine positive review of Mrs Bond’s lecture Bondbloke. She must be a good speaker because in the photograph I am absolutley sure she is looking down at the copy of ’scottish county cooking: how to make the perfect cock-a-leekie’ by Fiona Mcdougal which rests on the lectern and saying to herself ‘that’s the last time I ask bondbloke to fetch my lecture notes from the kitchen table’. She looks very authorative nevertheless. It is often very enlightning to see one’s other half in full flow in their professional mileu. hope you are both keeping well and look forward to reading more bond adventures in future

Ah, you found me out. I was actually ad-libbing the whole time, having realised in fact that I had some of BB’s poetry in front of me on the lectern.

Calumny Arthur, as if I would do anything to scupper BW! However what you don’t realise it that it was a nude photograph of Freddie Flintoff that was there before her…
