A Message for the Nationalists

This is for all of those “Little Englander’s” out there:-

The world
in which you were born
is just one model
of reality.

Other Cultures
ARE NOT
failed attempts
at being you,
they are unique
manifestations
of the human spirit!

I suggest it is read and thought upon!

Posted in Nationalism.

That’s odd, I always pin Nationalism and its associated bigotries on the Scots. Still I suppose if you bait someone long enough you’ll get a response, you reap what you sow.

  2. gadgie Says:

once again you target only English people for wanting their own parliament. you are boring

Dave & Gadgie: The relevant bit of this post was “I suggest it is read and thought upon!” this was obviously lost on both of you…

Dave: there is far more inherent racism and bigotry to be found south of the border than here in Scotland purely and simply due to the difference in population figures. I do not set out to “bait” anyone, I say what I think and if people don’t like it well that is their choice; I force no one to read my opinions. I sincerely hope that those English Nationalists who promulgate the vitriolic bigotry and racism south of the border reap what they sow!

Gadgie; where in this post have I targeted the English people for wanting their own parliament? Quite frankly I find people who do not read the words boring also, and if I am that boring why bother to read what I write?

Right. I read it and thought upon it — a long time ago, actually.

    Here’s the conclusion I reached:

The origins of the term Little Englander came from those “who wished to end British rule over India, South Africa, Canada, etc., and to withdraw the empire to domestic borders.”

I dare say I’m littler than that, and oppose imperialism that little bit more, though I wouldn’t call myself a nationalist; I like to think of myself as a partisan of the international proletariat and its allies!

But I more than support the right of nations to self-determination, I think self-determination is *essential* as multinational states aren’t terribly stable — which actually makes me an old-school nationalist as much as I am an old school Little Englander.

My companero Andy Newman has written a bit about England, which you might care to read:

I use the term “Little Englander” in its more commonly accepted sense, i.e.:-

“the term has come to mean any Englishman who sees only “Little England” and who is unaware of the wider world. It refers to a form of English nationalism perceived as naïve, bigoted and ignorant”

and this post was aimed at those who fall into this category. It has absolutely nothing at all to do with imperialism, but it has everything to do with multiculturalism. Self-determination, whilst very laudable, also has nothing to do with the viscious racism and bigotry being promulgated in the name of Nationalism, as this is simply a fear of the “different”. The whole point of this post was basically to say that when push comes to shove we are all the same no matter what our colour, sex or creed, there is actually no “difference”. The problems arise when the fanatics start to highlight what they see as “difference”; at the end of the day this is what leads to the vitriolic racism and bigotry!

I am a complete idiot, I can’t read and I can’t write in a coherent manner, and when it comes to a reasoned argument I really don’t know what that means. However I do have a very good grasp of Anglo Saxon language and I know how to throw insults at people; I also have a VERY narrow mind and anybody who doesn’t think like me is just plain wrong. In fact I am just a plain and simple waste of space!
